Auto Transport Pickup

When auto shipping is used to transport a vehicle, there are options available as to where and when the auto will be picked up by the transport company.

A vehicle may be taken directly to an auto shipping company location. A vehicle may be picked up from a home or office location, though not all towns may be served by particular auto shipping companies. This may result in a need to find a different auto shipping company or to make arrangements for the vehicle to be delivered to another location so the auto shipping company may then pick it up or take delivery of it.

Take photos of your vehicle before pickup; and take note of any scratches, dents, and other damage your vehicle may already have. Make sure that any paperwork the auto shipping company fills out regarding the condition of your vehicle matches yours, and get a copy of theirs. You will need this information when you take possession of your vehicle, after delivery.

There may be discounts available for dropping your car off to an auto shipping company location, rather than having them pick up your vehicle. If it is reasonable for you to take your vehicle to them, you may wish to enquire as to if there will be savings and how much they will be.

If your vehicle is being picked up, many companies will call you in advance to confirm the pickup. This call may come from 12- 24 hours ahead of pick up time. Ask your auto shipping company if they provide this service and how far in advance they contact you.

Talk to your company about your pickup location. There may be specific requirements needed in order to load your vehicle onto a carrier. Home or office pickup may not be workable if your location cannot accommodate carrier needs.
